Sanitation

Sanitation generally refers to the provision of facilities and services for the safe disposal of human urine and faeces. Inadequate sanitation is a major cause of disease world-wide and improving sanitation is known to have a significant beneficial impact on health both in households and across communities. The word 'sanitation' also refers to the maintenance of hygienic conditions, through services such as garbage collection and wastewater disposal.

6. 7. Physical Training and Yoga

Yoga7. Physical Training is aPhysical trainings are very important for our health. Physical training is an exercise which makes us active and alert. There are many types of physical trainings. Several types of physical trainings are possible for separate parts of the body. Some of the physical trainings are stretching the body, stretching the hands, clapping the hands etc. kind of exercise which helps to control our body and mind. It enables us to unite body, mind and spirit. It is important for the physical and mental fitness. Many diseases like heart disease, high-blood pressure, lungs disease, forgetfulness etc. can even be cured by practicing yoga.


Yoga increases our memory power. It also helps in our study. The yoga removes our tension and improves our eyesight. It also enables us to breathe comfortably.

The position in which we keep our body and body parts in yoga is called asana. There are different kinds of asanas. Some of them are Swastikasana, Padmasana, Naukasana, Shavasana, Halasana etc.
Germs can enter our body if we breathe in dirty air. They can enter our body if we eat dirty and stale foods.

5. Diseases

Diseases make us sick. We cannot work when we become sick. We cannot sit or stand when we become sick. The diseases make us sleep in bed for long time. Diseases may kill us in younger age.


We need healthy body to do all of our works. The diseases are caused by germs. The germs are so small that we cannot see them with our naked eyes. The germs enter our body through our nose, mouth, eye and skin

.4 Balanced diet

The combination of foods that we eat at a time is called diet. Our each diet should contain all three classes of foods, i.e., energy giving food, body building food and protective food. The diet containing all these foods is called balanced diet.

3. Body protecting foods

Green leafy vegetables and fresh ripe fruits like mango, grapes, orange, banana, papaya, pineapple etc. are the protective foods. These foods protect our body from the attack of diseases. Milk is both body building food and body protecting food.


These foods also make our bones and teeth strong. They make our eyes healthy. They make our skin smooth and healthy.

2. Body building foods

Milk, meat, eggs, fish, beans, peas and pulses are body-building foods. These foods help us to grow and become strong.


Milk is the excellent food. Everybody should drink milk for the good health.
